Benjamin Blatchford mustered in Barnstable Co by Joseph Otis frb 21 1777.Mustered int Capt James Davis's Co,Col Gamaliel Bradford Regt John Blatchford,Barnstable, mustered in by Joseph Otis march 29 1777.servivedin Capt James davis's Co Col Gamaliel Bradford Regt WILLIAM BLATCHFORD,Barnstable, mustered by Joseph Otis, march 14 1777 Capt James Davis's Col Gamaliel Bradford Regt David Blatchford,of Harwich mustered by Joseph Otis,Capt George Webb's Co Col Sheppard's Regt Note: The origional William Blatchford who married in Barnstable would be too old to Muster. These could very well be his son's.He was born about 1702. Can anyone help me find out about James McDaniel who was born prior to 1741 possibly in Ireland. He married Susanna (maiden name unknown) prior to 1752. He was married to Elizabeth Fisher in 1741 in Boston, Massachusetts. He and Susanna had: James, Roxanna, Randall, Susannah, Lucy, Mary, Elizabetn, James and John. When, and where were James, Susannah, Elizabeth and the children born? When did James marry Susannah? Did he have any children with Elizabeth? Any additional information would be helpful. Gail

They don't list a Stevens Cemetery but they do list a lone plot for "Levi Stevens, born Truro May 24, 1828, lost at sea about 1872." This plot is located off Castle Road, Truro Center. If I can look anyone up in the book, just ask. It's a fantastic book to have if you have Truro families.

Pamet rd. How do you get there? David Allen Lambert, "A Guide To Massachusetts Cemeteries" (Boston: NEHGS, 2002) lists a South Pamet Cemetery on S. Pamet Rd. Although it is not shown on current topographic maps I found it on a 1944 topo. It is on the north side of S. Pamet Rd. about 1/2 mile east of Route 6, and about 1/10 mile west of the intersection of S. Pamet and Collins Rd. Dale H. Cook; Research Member, NEHGS; Member, Mass. Soc. Mayf. Desc. Plymouth Co. From the Early Files at the Barnstable Patriot- by John Watters "Speaking of the Cape girls I must not forget to relate the manner in which they bake their bread; a batch is mixed in the evening, made into cakes of a suitable size and placed on their feet, they then stretch themselves at length upon the floor with their feet in front of a roaring fire, and come morning the bread will be ready for the table. I have seen a dozen girls in this position in a single room, all lying round the hearth like so many tom-cod in a frying pan, with a loaf of bread on each of their feet as big as a salt fish." Dale Cook has already been doing a great job with Harwich. (That shows how far behind the times I am) I'll get the county site updated to link there as the source for Harwich info- http://www.rootsweb.com/~macharwi/index.html -------------------------- The Barnstable County USGENweb page has been somewhat inactive and I would like to freshen it up. One of the ways other counties have for handling this is by using town coordinators. I could sure use some help. If you don't know how to do web pages, just feed me the information, we can get it done. You will need to subscribe to the MAGEN list I can help you learn to do everything else. Who's game? Just reply to me with your name beside a town and we'll get started.
