Hi to all, I haven't mentioned this lately -- perhaps some are new and don't know. I am working on a book on the descendants of Walsingham CHILSON of Marblehead, MA, and Saco, ME. The bulk of his descendants were from his son John who moved to Bellingham, MA. If any of you have any CHILSON connections, I would love to hear from you! In a nutshell, the CHILSON line that connects to BATES goes like this... 1. Immigrant Walsingham Chilson and wife Mary of Marblehead, MA and Saco, ME. 2. John Chilson, Sr. and Sarah Ann Jenkes -- who lived in Lynn and worked at Saugus Iron Works and then moved to Bellingham. 3. Walsingham Chilson and Susanna Edmunds of Bellingham. 4. Joseph Chilson, Sr. and wife #1 Mercy Shuttleworth of Bellingham. (His second wife was Lydia Pratt.) 5. Martha Chilson and Joseph Bates. She was the only child of Mercy Shuttleworth. All others were children of Lydia Pratt. This particular group of Chilsons were mostly in Bellingham. But others of the same family moved to Mendon and Uxbridge and Smithfield and Glocester.
