    1. [MA-MENDON] Lydia Hall Mystery
    2. Frank Comstock
    3. While looking at the 1870 RI census for the Jonathan F. Comstock family (wife: Mary Dexter Hall), I found a 55 year old Lydia S. Hall living in the Comstock home. The census shows Lydia's birthplace as Massachusetts. As far as I know, Benjamin Hall and Sarah Bates Hall of Bellingham had two children: Olive born in 1798 who married my 3rd great-granfather, John Jay Paine of Smithfield; and, Mary Dexter Hall, born 1821 who married Jonathan F, Comstock, my 2nd great-uncle. I always found it interesting that I haven't even found children who died at birth or died young in between Olive and Mary. It would seem unusual in the early 1800s to have only two children and have them spaced that far apart. Now, I find a Lydia S. Hall, four years older than Mary, living with Mary and her husband, Jonathan F. Comstock, in 1870 in Providence. Does anyone know if this Lydia is a sister to Mary Dexter Hall, thus making her an additional child for Benjamin and Sarah Bates Hall? Thanks, Frank
