Hi listers - for those you familiar with Mendon, you will be sad to learn that Lowell's restaurant, rte 16, burned down yesterday. Started in 1913 as the site of Freeman Lowell's milk bottling operation, then to ice cream in 1931. Sold by the Lowell's in the 1970's, the location still operated as a popular local restaurant. Also destroyed was Warren's Barbershop, and the home next door to the restaurant. Sad day, Lisa llepore@comcast.net
