Settlers of early Dover (part of Wardsboro) came from Milford MA. Ebenezer Sears was among them (I think he might have left Douglas MA but at least it was Worcester County if not Milford) Early settlement of this town dates back to when it was a part of Wardsboro. The first settlement of inhabitants was made by John Jones, Ithamer Allen and others from Milford in 1780. Wardsboro organized in 1786 with a town clerk and, after the division of the town in 1788 , they had a list of officers (election returns dated March 10, 1789) William Sears, highway surveyor Ebenezer Sears, Constable Doees anyone know of any others who left Milford for VT (WIndham County) at that time?
