I suggest you gather all the information you can in Smithville, Chenango Co. area and Troupsburg, Steuben Co. area on the White and Vickery families and work backwards from there. In NY, land records are essential to research because the vital records are not very good. Do check the land records! Also, check the probate records. Those two records classes are very good in NY.
