I think someone asked about Patience GASKILL who married Jonathan Aldrich at Smithfield, RI on 17 March 1742, "both of Mendon." (Arnold, Vital Records of Rhode Island, 3:5). Patience was the daughter of Jonathan and Alls (sic) Pickering) GASKILL. Although her birth was not recorded, she is named as a sibling in the will of her sibling, Samuel Gaskill (Cumberland Probate Records, 5:331-337): "To my honored mother, Alice Gaskill, my three brothers, William, Jonathan and Silas, and to my three sisters Patience Aldrich, Provided Cook, and Olive Wilcos..my brother in law, Daniel Wilcox." Jonathan (4) Gaskill married Allls (sic) Pickering at Salem on 9 September 1726 (Salem MA VRs., 3:406). She was born at Salem on 19 November 1703, daughter of Benjamin and Jane (Hobby) Pickering (Salem MA VRs, 2:170). Jonathan's birth was not recorded but was mentioned in the will of his father, Samuel (3) Gaskill.."I ordaine my wife Bethiah Gaskill and my Son Jonathan Gaskill to be my Executors" (Essex Probate #10680). Samuel (3) Gaskill married Bethia Woodin, an unrecorded daughter of John (1) and Mary Woodin. Her identity and marriage is proved by the administration of the estate of John Woodin to "Samll Gaskill of Salem who marryed Bethiah Daughter of ye Dec." (Essex Probate #157312). He was born 23:11m[January]:1663, son of Samuel (2) and Provided (Southwick) Gaskill (original Quaker records deposited at RI Historical Society). Samuel (2) Gaskill was baptized at Salem on 7:6m[August] 1639 (Records of The First Church in Salem, 17), son of Edward (1) Gascoyne/Gaskin/Gaskill. He married at Salem on 30:10m[December]:1662 Provided Southwick (Salem VRs., 2:406- Gaskin, Samuell and Provided Southwicke). She was baptized at Salem on 6:10[December]:1639, daughter of Lawrence (1) and Cassandra (Burnell) Southwick (Records of the First Church in Salem, 17).
