That's exciting news for a lot of people trying to find their roots. The lists have been available at Ellis Island, but searching through them has been difficult and time consuming. The new, online process promises to be much more efficient and should lead to some exciting finds. The online records will cover the years 1892 to 1924 - the peak U.S. immigration years.
