    3. Hi Alice and all of you Cookie Munchie interested in Ahaz, In trying to read the very bad photo copy of a probate regarding Samuel Cook I have been able to determine the following: The probate begins by stating, "Know all men by these presents, that we Joseph Cook, husbandman, Ahaz Cook, yeoman and all of Mendon in the County of Worcester in the Commonwealth of Massachuestts . . ." This probate assigns the estate of Samuel Cook to Joseph Cook. At the bottom of the document it states, "Sealed and Deliver in the Presence of" There are five signatures. The only two that I can read are Joseph Cook and Ahaz Cook. It appears that the document is dated 10 April 1817. I am certain about the month and year. The day is very blurred, but appears to be 10th day of. There is a number written at the top of the document that may be the page number. The number is 142. On 02/09/1818 Samuel Cook warrant land is recorded in Adams County, Illinois which is designated as Military Track Land. Samuel is listed as deceased and the same land is recorded for Joseph Cook who is listed as an heir. Ahaz also received 160 acres of Military Track Land which is also recorded on 02/09/1818. Ahaz land is in Stark County, Illinois. On our geni-jaunt we will see what we can find at the Adams County courthouse. Perhaps Alice can look-up the probate record in Mendon. Best regards, Max
