Rose, What I meant were the Grantor (the person selling the land) and Grantee (person buying the land) Index Books. These volumes are in alphabetical order and a quick way to determine the actual volume and page # of the deed in which you are interested. My experience, in other counties, has been that the Office of the Register of Deeds has been willing to photocopy those pages and send them on to me. From those, I determined which deeds I wanted and requested photocopies by volume and page number. Now, I don't want to promise that Worcester County would do the same. And, if you can access the microfilm through LDS, that really is the shortest way between two points. Good luck! Jan D.
