I am on quite a few, and it seems that any time there is an off- topic post, whether its holiday greetings or virus warnings-there s a follow-up flurry of hissy fit postings about what is or is not appropriate! Morning All Mendonites. Thank you Rose. Yes it is a friendly list and hopefully we all aim to keep it this way. :) In my welcome message I did say that Chat is allowed. All I ask is that the subject say Chat, or at least cover the subject content. .. Then busy people can delete, any messages upon receiving them.. I have Moderated really large list, which hopefully this Ma-Mendon will become one day, also.. And they ran very smoothly with Chat, threads and sharing. No FLAMES will be allowed. I will unsubbed anyone after a warning that flames another lister. Genealogy comes first , of course!!!!!! However , list have slow seasons.. Spring , esp. this time of year is a slow time on all list.. Folks thoughts turn to outside work, spring cleaning, vacations , etc. As soon as the real summer heat sets in, all are back "In House with A/C on " and back to their computers. A friendly list is a good list. so let's all try and keep this new Ma- Mendon one . a friendly, family one. Newbees to list and computers oft make errors, in their queries and oft send, old hoax virus warnings, and other old hat issue messages. Hopefully , we can just handle this with a friendly reply. However a legitimate warning is acceptable on this list . I belong to a " Roots Web list owners list." They pass on all problems about list . new viruses, Rootsweb policies and etc. >From time to time, I will pass along to the list, any thing that might be helpful to all. I do ask no politics or religion be discussed, unless it is genealogy related. ( in our ancestors times ) A holiday of any kind is meant to wish our family and friends a Happy whatever Day.. and who better to wish a happy day to than our Mendon Family, whom we share and are close too all year long..
