    1. [MA-MENDON] searching on "Google"
    2. I had asked a question about General Tupper on the New York Military list and someone said "search on Google" and I said "Oh, well". Then about 4 days later someone else on a different list gave instructions on searching through Google. And, voila, the two came together at the right time. I have spent the last 3 days doing nothing else. When I started searching (at work) in 1968 we had the old teletypes but the searching systems were sophisticated. We used one out of Dialog, one of BRS in Scotia NY and for professional work they were excellent. Google is the closest I have seen to the searching systems available in the 70s and now available for the general use. Does anyone know any others? On family tree maker (library books) you can do a site search which is like a free text search. It is helpful. For example, William Miller, Millerites; or Ballou and Richmond and "New Lights" ; on Google you can do it in one window and it is fast. As the young people would say "it is a gas".... Jean
