    3. Hi All, Tradition has it that Ammidon /Amadowne etc. is a French Huguenot name. Philip Ammidon was the first known owner of the Ammidon Tavern in Mendon. (ca 1770) . This building is still standing in Mendon at 2 Main St. It is very famous for having refused George Washington lodgings. And one of Mendon's Historic Buildings. Philip's wife was Silvia TAFT; He was the son of Ichabod and Margery Aldrich d/o Jacob and Margery Hayward. Margaret or Margery Aldrich Ammidon was b. 14 Mar 1714, and died in 1753; (Amidon Gen, by Frank Best; ) Mendon VR d. 7 Oct. 1767, ae 53 and Bur, in Old Cemetry in Mendon. Alice
