I would appreciate having the update. Thanks SueMHR@aol.com wrote: Hi to all, A couple of weeks ago, I send an update on Thomas Thayer and his family to the list and it was never delivered to you all. I tried twice. Hi Listers - I don't know how many of you actually live near Mendon, but I thought I would send this out in case anyone is able to attend. Every year the sixth grade studies the local history of Mendon. Looks like they've made it into a slideshow presentation this year. Even though they are in the 6th grade, they do a great job so I thought I would send it along, in case anyone is nearby. Lisa YOU ARE INVITED! FRIDAY, MAY 20th AT 9:00 AM At MISCOE HILL SCHOOL AUDITORIUM 148 NORTH AVE., MENDON, MA “By conducting a dialogue with our past, we are searching how to go forward” Our 6th grade students at Miscoe Hill School have acquired a greater appreciation and awareness of the history of Mendon. We are proud of our students as they researched and explored the history of Mendon, photographed the homes and landmarks, documented the historical background and created wonderful informative slideshow presentations. We would like you to share in their projects by attending this special viewing. Light refreshments will be served at 9AM prior to the performance!
Hi Alice - That would be the greatest group to show it to. When you see it, you'll probably know it, but I didn't want to influence anyone's thinking. I'll send it to your email address. I had it with me when I went to my son's baseball game last night and showed it to Ruth O'Grady. She mentioned showing it to one of the Thayers also. Even though I live here, I don't really know any of these families. I had no idea there were that many Seniors in Mendon over 90! Is there anyone on our list who grew up in the Mendon area, or lived here before the 1960's? I have a photo that I'd like you to look at. Let me know, and I can email it to you - I don't have a website to post it on, and I don't own the photo. Lisa llepore@comcast.net

I knew who she was -- but some people may not have known. Does the book give a reference so that you can tell which court records to look in for further information? I think it might be interesting -- might even look it up myself sometime. For reasons unknown, my complete update on Thomas Thayer was never posted to the list. I'll try sending it again -- perhaps tomorrow -- in a hurry now. Sue Susan M. Hillier Roe SueMHR@aol.com Seal Beach, CA A friend is one who comes in when the whole world has gone out. Anonymous
Thank you for the answer to my question. I realized I should have been more specific about who she was. Hi Everyone, Since we are doing a check of things, I will pick your brains a little. I was looking at a book called "Some Ancestral lines-a record of some of the ancestors of Guilford Solon Tingley and his wife, Martha Pamelia Meyers" Rutland, Vt. 1935 written by their son Raymón Meyers Tingley. In there it stated that Mary, wife of John Osborne , parents of Patience Osborn, was indited for murdering her child but acquitted, then fined by the court for giving QICKSILVER to her husband. My question is, what is quicksilver and was she trying to poison her husband? this is the first reference I have seen to this...
