    1. Silas Dean LEWIS in 1920, 1930, MA ?

    3. Hello, I'd like to ask for help in finding out where my grandparents were living when they first married. I don't think my sister has yet found out when they married, or even where. A "family story" is that they married in NH. Silas "Dean" LEWIS probably married Clarissa Adelaide KIDDER around 1916 to 1918. I understand they married very young. Another "family story" is that they had 3 miscarriages or still-born births before their daughter, Louise M. LEWIS, was born in May 1919. They then had a son, John, born in 1921, and a son Silas LEWIS, Jr., born in 1923. Whatever the case, Silas and Clarissa LEWIS, should have been living in MA as a couple with a baby in the 1920 Census. Yet, I am not finding them. (If they married in NH, perhaps they lived their first year of married life in NH.) ?? I'd also very much like to find out where they were living in 1930. However, I need to explain that it was right around 1930 that they "divorced." And, reportedly within a year, they had each remarried. So, the 1930 Census might "possibly" show: Silas D. and Hazel (BEDELL) LEWIS and her four children living in MA Herbert and Clarissa FRANCIS living in MA. .. Silas and Hazel LEWIS had no children of their own. Herbert and Clarissa had two children born in the 1930's. Thank you for your time. Betty (near Lowell, MA) P.S. My great-uncle, "Sanford" KIDDER, and my uncle, "Dean" LEWIS, both "left town" ("disappeared") around 1950 - never to be seen again. It has just occurred to me this week ... that, perhaps, they "left town" together ! :o) (Both uncle and nephew had "troubled childhoods.")
