Thanks so much, Jennifer. I thought I had accessed this information before, but the names of the inlaws are mostly new to me. I wonder why there is a Mary E. and a Mary O., both listed as daughters-in-law? One is 21 and one is 22. When I tried to access the 1880 census at familysearch.org, I got a message saying you have to subscribe to Ancestry.com to get the information. A friend recently had trouble accessing stuff at rootsweb.com. He said he had a similar problem. So thank you very much for your good help. Could anyone tell me whether there is a listing for an Augustus Chamberlain in the 1870 or 1880 census? I just read a posting in a COMBS list which says John B. Coombs, age 16, was living with an Augustus Chamberlain, age 24, and several others, in Abington, Massachusetts in 1850. John B. and Augustus are both listed as being shoemakers. The age and location would correspond with that of the John B. Coombs I am trying to research. In addition, I know that John's son Samuel named his first child Augustus, and I'll bet he was named for this Augustus Chamberlain fellow. A cousin, maybe?
