Subject: RITCHIES, BOSTON, MASS. ABT.1752-1755 Hello: Would someone out there be able to look up Andrew Ritchie, married to Margaret McNeish in Scotland. They came to Boston, Mass. with their first child, between 1752 and 1755. The rest of the children where born in Boston. He seems to have remained tn Boston until September 3, 1777, when he was denounced by the "Committee of Correspondence and Safety" as being "inimical to this State," after which he doubtless hastened to join his nephew at Annapolis, with his daughter and young children, but the two or three eldest sons probably remained and took some part in the war on the loyal side, for in the muster rolls of Loyalists and discharged soldiers as Annapolis taken between 18th and 24th June,1784, the following names appear as "Loyalists settled in Annapolis"; Andrew, Andrew 2nd, Thomas, Matthew, James, and John Ritchie. In some of the papers, it mentions Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts. In all of this there is no mention of his wife leaving with him. Did she pass away? What happened to her in Boston? Any and all information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your time and trouble. Wendy Ontario, Canada chey@bconnex.net
