    1. Re: [MA-CENSUS-LOOKUP] 1930 Helen Mason
    2. The only Helen Mason showing up in the 1930 index that is b. Canada is a Helen M. Mason, age 24, step-daughter of a Henry Harper and his wife Leona. Do those names ring a bell? Would she be the wife of someone? Is MASON her maiden name or married name? The index shows 37 results for the name and those that are listed as wife or daughter don't have the birthplace listed in the index. Each census image would have to be searched to find the birthplace of the other Helen MASONs. She was born in Nova Scotia, Canada and would have been between 15 and 30 at the time of the 1930 census. I'm sorry but I do not know the county. This is a brick wall for me and any help would be appreciated. Yours Truly, M. McDonald >>

    3. Lou, Thanks very much for your reply to my request for a lookup. In 1927 a young woman named Helen Mason gave birth to baby boy while travelling in Nova Scotia. She arranged for the midwife who assisted with the delivery to look after the baby who she named Henry. Helen eventually went on to her destination in Mass. but left Henry behind. Henry died in 1994. I'm his son and only recently found out the in formation which I've explained in these posts. It's about all I have to go on. Sorry I don't have more specifics. m.
