Squire from anecdote and other information I have discovered was quite a colourful character, however the main problem I now have is that I hadn't lost him. By that I mean I have found UK census entries for Squire in 1871, 1881, 1891 and 1901(the latest UK census released). I know he married Elizabeth Ann Grimshaw in 1888 in Ashton under Lyne, Lancashire and appears with her in 1891 census in Ashton. He also married Matilda Fenton(my great grandmother) on Feb 29th 1896 in Ashton, Lancs and appears with Matilda and children in 1901 in Ashton, Lancs. I already suspected that this may have been a bigamist marriage as I have been unable to find a death record for Elizabeth Ann Lownds and his name is misrecorded on the marriage certificate (? intentionally) and the date 29th Feb, in the UK this is traditionally the date women propose to men. Could Squire have emmigrated to Massachusetts with Elizabeth Ann settled and brought up a family there but also returned regularly to the UK and married again and brought up a different family? Alternatively he could be a completely different individual, but the other Thomas Lounds you found for me is likely his brother who is missing from the UK census after 1881. I believe another brother Edwin may also be in Massachusetts. Further Squire's mother was called Esther, the name of his daughter. What do you think?
