John J. McELENEY was probably born in Boston. He may have been ordained as a Roman Catholic priest by 1930 and would probably be in his 40's. In 1950 he became the Bishop of Jamaica, in the West Indies. I am sorry but I have very little information on John J. McEleney. Thank you for any information. Marguerite
Hi Charles, An FYI for you is that in 1900 there were ..32.. William GREEN's living in Boston. I checked the 1870 census, and there were ..12.. William GREEN's living in Boston. But, one is a tailor. The couple is William and Kate GREEN with 5 children. This census does not offer street names. With the 1870 census offering the age of 39 for William, I went back to the 1900 census, and found a William, Age 68/69, ..and this William was a Tailor. But .. this William had a wife, Mary, and a daughter, Bridget, and they had been married for 45 years. Mary had 13 children, but 8 lived. (Lived on Bow St.) Another William GREEN, Age 70, in 1900, was a Tailor. He and possibly adult-children lived on K Street. Hope this helps a little. I would appreciate if someone would look up my ancestors living in Boston. 1910 Boston Maurice Jones LEWIS aged ca. 30, born in Wales? Annie LEWIS, ca. 24, wife born Wales Victor born UK Maurice born UK Another son, Evan James was born August 1910 in Magazine St, Boston, I presume the census had already been taken? The father, Maurice Jones LEWIS died in Boston, when Evan James was about 6 weeks old( family story) and sometime later the family returned to the UK. Any advice on where to obtain more information about death records in Boston, addresses etc will be very helpful I will be delighted if anyone will look up the census for me. Thanks in anticipation, Peter Evans England

I am looking for info on Joseph E Donovan, Charlestown, MA, born 1883, called to the Bar in 1904. I think his father was John T, born Apr 6 1858, who was stationmaster in Charlestown about 1914. I know Joseph became a judge in Boston, and had at least 1 son, Joseph Jr. Can anyone do a lookup for 1900 to find the family ? Thanks Donal Doolan
I'm trying to find out if my Hagerty ancestors arrived in Boston before 1850. The family would eventually settle in Lewiston, ME in the mid 1850s. I'm looking for a Patrick and Mary Haggerty, sons John, Thomas, Denis, Daniel and at least one sister Mary, there was supposedly 10 children, but I only know for sure of the 5 I've listed. If Patrick survived the famine he would be in his early to mid fifties, wife Mary about 48, sons and daughter in their early to mid 20s except Daniel who would be only about 7. Also John might be married and his mother might be living with him as she is living with him in Lewiston. Ed Hagerty Monroe, CT

That may be him you found in Jersey City. I never thought of looking there based on the Ancestry search locating him in Mass.. However, my Stephen's parents were both born in England, not Canada. Could you check for him also in 1910 & 1930? Jennifer: I received your two E-Mails intended to provide images of the 1920 & 1930 Censuses. Unfortunately, I can't open them. I get a message, from Ancestry, that I have exceeded my limit. Apparently Ancestry sets a limit (I believe it's five) on the number of these one can access without being a member. I'm not a member, and some of your colleagues have sent me these before on other ancestors. If you have another option to send the images, please do. Otherwise, just provide the information on Stephen Treen and his household, and on the address, date of census, ED etc. from each census. I really appreciate all your effort on this!!!..........Bob ----- Original Message ----- From: JHL1188@aol.com<mailto:JHL1188@aol.com> To: MA-CENSUS-LOOKUP-L@rootsweb.com<mailto:MA-CENSUS-LOOKUP-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: June 06, 2005 2:43 PM Subject: Re: [MA-CENSUS-LOOKUP] 1920 US Census-Stephen Treen Hello Bob, Under that spelling, this was the only Stephen/Steven in the HQ index of the 99 Treen's in the US.
