The 1930 census for Mass. is not yet up on Heritage Quest - not sure when it will be - NY and Conn. and a few others are there. Ann
Thanks for all this information! I wonder if this is the family. The parents of my James were born in Pennsylvania and Massachusetts, at least according to the 1910 and 1930 information. But of course, the census taker doesnt always get the information right. It does say in 1920 that his father was born in England. Oh, I found my photocopy of the 1920 with Henry, William, and James H, though Im sure its Bowler St. and not Barber. James H. is the father of the James, age 22, that I'm looking for. Now I see why James, 47 was listed as from England. It looks like hes in the same building as William and the census giver or taker assumed that he, too, was born in England. Do you have access to the 1930 census to see if James, 32 and Margaret, 34 are still in Fall River? Maybe it will give his parents as born in PA and MA.
