I'm seeking the James Barry family (he was born about 1814 in Ireland and his wife Mary born about 1818 in Ireland in the 1830 and 1840 census. At least 2 children born in Boston, MASS Donald b. 1834 and Daniel b. 1846. Am trying to find out when they emigrated. Hopefully this will help me narrow down my search. Would appreciate any help in trying to locate the movement of a James Joseph Bryne who married my Gr Aunt Mary Anne Evans in Newfoundland in July 1885. James was reported as being a saloon keeper with the last known residence of Boston, Ma. James was 31 at time of marriage, birth around 1854, place unknown. Mary Anne was born 1867, English Harbour West, Nfld. Her sister, Fanny Belle also married in July 1885 in Newfoundland. Her spouse, Lemuel Tucker, was from Gloucester. Both men were witnessess at each others wedding. I found that Lemuel was lost at sea in 1886. Fanny remarried in 1890, to Douglas McLean. I believe that both men may have been on the same ship in Newfoundland, and thus returned with their wives back to the US. To date, I can't find any reference to James Bryne and Mary Anne. I would be most appreciative if someone could do a lookup for me in the 1870 census. My great-grandparents, Harry (aka Henry) GREAVES and Anne/Ann RODGERS (aka ROGERS) may or may not have been married in 1870. (Their first child was born ca 1872 in Massachusetts.) They may be listed separately. Harry was born in England. Ann was born in Ireland. I am uncertain of their ages, due to discrepancies in other records, Harry was probably between 34 and 40; Ann was probably between 26 and 38.) Please reconfirm census date. If you really mean 1990, that won't be released for another 60 years or so. If you mean 1890, it burned in a fire in Washington DC so no longer exists. If you mean 1900, I MIGHT be able to help, but the 1900 census for Fall River is on more than one microfilm roll and you need to narrow it down -- perhaps see if someone has access to either soundex or to the Fall River city directory to find a street address. Otherwise, it would take many, many hours of plowing through census film and I don't think there are very many people willing to do that for free. He has quoted film# 658, page 188 but unfortunately I am not anywhere near a place that I can get easy access to the film. Would there be anybody on the list that is near a FHS or Library that might have this film? I'd sure appreciate knowing who is living with William in 1900.
