NOPE. Anna was still having children in 1894. So unless she was doing it some strange way that can't be her, but and here's a big but, she named her daughter Anna so I wonder if she was also named after her mother. Maybe that's her mother. Even though the last name has one diff letter back then that was common. However the PA census for ANNA Darrar HILT in 1910 does say she was born in MA. So I am back to square one. Her middle name was Philomena by the way. Carolyn Aren't you tired or are you bored and waiting for the storm? If the PA census of 1910 says Anna Darrar was born in MA and she was 39 then that would place here there in 1870-1871. Is she listed in any household as age 9 in the 1880 census? Where would I write for birth records. I know it is Darrar because I have a birth cert. from Montgomery County, PA for one of her sons and her name is spelled clearly DARRAR. Is there some central place in MA for births. Oh, she supposedly spoke French and the story was she came from Canada with ehr parents. I assumed her father was French. Carolyn on Guam
Thank you. THe PA census in 1910 states she is 39 and was born in MA. I have hit a brick wall. Her name is Anna (Annie) P. Darrar. There is a Catherine Darrar in the 1910 census in PA and have wondered if her mother . If I could find someone with the 1900 census or better yet the 1880 when Anna was about 9 I could place her in a household. Hi Fellow Researchers and Friends, Question: Were there any directories in Holyoke about 1870?? I'd love to find my great grandparents. My great grandparents Mitchell Labonte and Marie Delima Lamothe were married in the Precious Blood Church in Holyoke 7-26-1874. Mitchell's father Michel Joseph Labonte was also present. Could someone look up these names in a directory or in a census?? I'd really appreciate some help. Thanks. Becky Norman
Hi Guys, Can anyone please help??? I'm trying to find out when and where my grandparents came down from VT and Canada... My grandmother, Annie E. Smith, her mom, Dorcas Hopkins Smith, and her mom, Mary Nickerson Hopkins came to MA sometime between 1880 and 10-5-1889 when Mary Nickerson Hopkins died in Westminster. Annie's husband, Charles Bartlett True came from VT abt 1895. He married Annie 10-21-1896 in Worcester. He was probably living with other siblings. Can anyone look up these people in the MA and or Worcester Census?? Are there city directories for Worcester?? Looking forward to hearing from someone... Becky Norman
Could someone please so a lookup for Thomas L. Gray in Webster? He should be living on High Street with his wife Fannie. I am wanting to verify where his parents were born. On his death cert it says New York. His brother in Illinois listed them as born in Ireland in the 1880 census. Perhaps the family filled in his death cert as New York because that is where Thomas was born and they just assumed. I would like verification from both brothers when they were alive and see if I get a consensus. Thanks to all. Patti Smith
Gina There are Gloucester, MA. and Gloucester, R.I.

I, for one do want to reassure people that there are a few folks who do manual lookups in the census records (specifically 1880, 1900, 1920). I have done several lookups for folks who live in Massachusetts (in the Massachusetts censuses), and I live in California! I just don't have everything available to me at the Oakland LDS library. And sometimes I need help. Sometimes I give it! Regards Candi
