I had an Aunt Etta Mae Schanks who was married to a Harold Howarth, who lived on Weetamoe Street in Fall River. I think that Uncle Harry was moved around a lot as the family moved quite often. I think that there were some financial problems that kept the family on the move. I have an aunt still living who is 84, I will ask her some questions and get back to you with some answers. I think that Weetamoe Street is on the section that we always called the Highlands, as it was located near Highland Avenue and that is where the rich or "high" people lived. I could be wrong on this as I am not real good with directions. I also think that if you look on Cedar Street or on Durfee Street or on Flint Street (Which are on opposites ends of each other) you may be able to find some of the Howarths, as they lived on these streets. I'm looking for someone that may have the Bristol census, an index or ED districts available. My missing Howarths- Alfred HOWARTH was living @ 458 Weetamoe in Fall River according to a 1917, 1919 and a 1920 City Directory. His business is 208 Snell and 319 Cambridge. Yet when his daughter was born in 1818 his address on her brith certificate is 862 So. First in New Bedford. Alfred was born in England in 1897 so he'd be 13 on the 1910 or 23 on the 1920. 1910 should have him with his parents and 1920 should show him with wife Anne Christine Weir and daughters Helen/Ellen b1917 and Elizabeth b1918 An Aunt still alive, says they did move back and forth between the two places. We have the 1910 and 1920 census film here in Miami, but the copy is very dark and I can't find him or the street Weetamoe written in the margin. I've also tried the ED districts for Fall River and can't tell which ED Weetamoe would fall in, as it isn't listed as a "bounded by" street. According to our librarian, they do have different filmings and some other library may have a clearer copy. I'm wondering if someone on this list may have access to a better copy of the film and might take a look for my Alfred and who ever he is living with. Or if anyone has an index. Bob?, I found James BALDYGA & family listed in the Warren, MA 1900 census index but it does not identify a particular place within Poland they were from. This is pretty standard for census entries. You're more likely to find the name of the city or town of birth from vital records or naturalization records. However, if you're interested in the census info, just let me know. He may have been living in Everett, MIddlesex Co, but I am not sure. Andrew Ferguson was a house painter, born in Scotland and would be in his 50's in 1910. His wife was named Mary, was born in MA, would be abt 53 years old in 1910 and had both parents from Iowa. Hi. Thanks to Lisa, I think I know how to do this. I am looking for my grandfather, William Joseph Demers. He was born in NH, but married my grandmother, Eva Blanch Fournier, in Holyoke, MA 8-5-1917. Their children: Blanch b. 1918 Holyoke Theodore b. 1920 Holyoke Doris b. 1921 Holyoke William b. 1924 Leeds (d. 1926) Leonard b. 1925 Leeds William b. 1927 Leeds (my dad aka Lawrence) Shirley b. 1936 Springfield My ggrandparents were Noe Demers and Adeline DesLauriers from Canada. I am not sure if by 1900 they were living in Hampden County or not. I cannot find anything in Canada on them and have just recently found out that they were in NH before coming to MA. But my mother remembers my grandfather, William having siblings in MA, so I assume Noe and Adeline lived there also. Some siblings of William would be Yvonne, Marie and Mary Ann. I have no other information on the Demers line. While I do have my father's bc, I still cannot find anything on William of Noe.
