    2. Michelle Kincaid
    3. Dear listers, I am sending a request for a 1910 census or 1911 directory look-up for my gggrandfather and mother. It is known that they lived in the area of Dorchester/Boston in 1905. His name was William R. Brown and his wife was Elizabeth Mae McGray. Their address in 1905 was 107 Stoughton Street. It was listed on my ggrandfather's birth certificate. William Brown's occupation was listed as a general manager for a warehouse at the time, but the name of the warehouse was not given. Thank you for all of your help. Sincerely, Michelle Kincaid of Oak Forest, IL

    1. [MA-CENSUS] 1870 Worcester Census and/or city directory
    2. Would SKS please see if they could look up my ancestor in the Worcester County census in Oxford? I am trying to find pertinant info for Thomas L. Gray in Oxford in 1870. He would be approximately 20 years old. If someone has a city directory for Oxford in 1870 that would be wonderful too. Thanks so much in advance! Patti

    2. Nancy J. Pfenning & Joseph W. Steele
    3. Hello, And, thank you for such quick response... Edmund was married to Lea (Leah) Fortier from Vermont but unsure of when, they had two sons but they were born in 1883 and 1885 so that won't help. His wife died in 1888 in Vermont, he was married late in 1888 or early 1889 to a lady named Georgiana. She had one child already and they then had one born in Massachusetts and the last three born in NY. We have no idea who his family was. Someone else had given me a list of 1880 census from Mass. that showed Edmund in Lowell, MA along with Alice and Adolphe but his age said only early 20s and he should have been early 30s at the time. Any ideas on where else to look would be greatly appreciated as we are readying for our first family reunion ever and the more info the better. Again, thanks so much, Nancy ----- Original Message ----- From: <Riwilak@aol.com> To: <MA-CENSUS-LOOKUP-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, July 01, 2001 11:32 AM Subject: Re: [MA-CENSUS] Edmund Ricard family > There are many Richard, Rickert, and Ricard families in the 1880 census, but > none for Edmund/ond. 2. There are many Richard, Rickert, and Ricard families in the 1880 census, but none for Edmund/ond. There are lots of these families from Canada. There is an Edward Richard, but he was born 1845 and a John Record, who was born in 1847 - both in Canada. Do you have any of the names of the rest of his family? Wife, children etc?

    3. Good Morning, I am looking for some help with the Ricard family in Massachusetts, I am unsure of the county/counties involved. If someone has access to census records for any of the following years: 1870, 1880, or 1890 index Edmund (Edmond) John Ricard (Rickard) DOB June 1849 in Canada. According to 1900 census he came to USA in 1865. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Nancy

    3. Thanks for the responses on how to find them. 20 Annie Stewarts? gee, I knew there were 2 but didn't realize there were that many? I suppose that if I ask a library in Salem or thereabouts to copy the pages of the directory for me that they would do this? I know we wouldn't have it here in our library, not in Florida. The Annie Stewart I am looking for would have been 35 or so in 1900 as she was born about 1865 and she had a daughter, Margaret Cecelia Stewart with her. Could that pare down the 20 to maybe 1 or two? Thanks for the responses. Margaret There is only one other alternative to getting older, and I'm not ready for that yet. I'm too busy diggin my roots and searching for more limbs to my tree. _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com

    3. That information doesn't really help as it would still require someone to look at every single entry until she is found. You might want to check the Salem city directory but remember that none of the Annie Stewarts listed in Mass. were in Salem in 1900. They may have been missed in the index or maybe she wasn't head of household at the time. Sorry I don't have better news for you. 3. Hello Margaret, There are 20 Annie Stewart's listed in the 1900 MA Census index but none in Salem, MA. I am trying to find where she divorced him and I know they remarried in 1905 so I am trying to find where he died, her too for that matter, but he was much older than she. Thanks for any help you can provide. I tried to census on Ancestry.com but cannot, for the life of me, make out that information, and I am not what I would call a stupid person, just in some things. hee hee Margaret

    3. Margaret, see if you can track down a city directory for Salem MA for the 1900 - 1910 time period for these names. Often public libraries have these and will copy and mail them to you for a small fee if you are not in the area. In this way you can narrow down the district where they lived to find them in the un-indexed Ancestry records. This has worked for me in Lowell, MA and in Chicago. I suggest you then print out a map of the area from a map website like mapquest.com while you are looking through the census records to see if you are on the right track. good luck, Susan Margaret Sessions wrote: > > I don't know if I requested this before, but I would like to know if there > are any listings for Alexander and Annie Stewart in the 1910 census, and > also Annie Stewart in the 1900 census for Salem, MA or in that general > vicinity.
