Thanks for everyone's help!! His occupation was in Paint manufacturing. It seems like he was worth a lot. Does anyone know how much 35,000 dollars in 1870 would be today ? Hello, This morning I requested an 1870 census lookup in Hampden Cty. for a Michael and Margaret Waldschmidt - possible children Conrad and Catherine. Thank you. Piketre@aol.com
Dear Linda, This is the Michael I am looking for - I do thank you so much... I will post the request for a directory lookup to the Ma. List. Linda - again, thank you. Piketre
I don't have the census, but I do have the index. Maybe someone can look up the details for you. I would like to request a search in the 1870 Pittsfield, Hampden County census for the following: Hampden/1870/Waldschmidt Michael with wife Margaret and at least two children - Conrad and Catherine. And if possible - anyone else living in the same dwelling (if that is not a permitted request, please forgive me). I thank you for any and all help given. Piketre@aol.com >>
Nancy, That was really nice of you - I know they were there and married in 1860 and then again in 1890 ....when Margaret died....the mystery is the in between. Thank you for your search. Piketre
I've lost my great grandparents between the years 1919 - 1922. I've checked the 1920 Massachusetts Census Soundex and also the entire 1920 census for the city of Newton, MA (where they are later found in 1923) without any luck. :-( I am hopeful someone on the list might have easy access to a 1919 - 1923 Roslindale or Forest Hills, MA City Directory where they might be able to find my great grandfather William ATKINSON listed. I understand William worked for Saco-Lowell Shops (Textile Machinery) during this time. William & Annie ATKINSON Children: Ethel Harold James William Earl Thank you in advance! Nancy Atkinson (Manchester, NH)
I do not have access to the 1870 index but checked for your Waldschmidt family in the 1880 index and found none living in Massachusetts. Thank you so much. I am looking for the 1910 census because I never heard of Marion so I was wondering if she died young. I knew Alice and Helen but no one remembers Marion. That's sad. I am trying to figure out around what year before I hunt for a death certificate or obit. Thank you for helping me.
