    1. Re: [MA-CENSUS-LOOKUP] DeWitt, 1890
    2. Marilyn: There is NO 1890 census for the US - it was burned in a fire. The next is the 1900 census OR you can post a query on the City Directories to see if they were still in NY - but it only gives the head of household person and address, sometimes occupation. Lucy Lucy

    3. Hi, Lucy, I am not absolutely sure, but it looks as though Jane Maud DeWitt had a brother, Alonzo C. and probably George...and may have had another brother, Howard, although I don't know when their dates are. As near as I can tell from census records ( Ohio) of Joseph Cormier and Jane De Witt after marriage was that Jane was b. May, 1879. In her death notice in 1960 it said, "sister of George DeWitt." Her birthplace was said to be MA, and also that of her father, although I cant find any record. I don't know when or where Jane met her husband, although I have found a Joseph Cormier in several places on the 1880 census, including MA. That's about all I know...does this help at all? Thanks very much for your help.
