    3. Dear List Members, Having been born in the town of Rochester MA I have to wonder if anyone knows where this cemetery is located. During my teens which were many years ago my mother and I visited a cemetery with a rot iron fence and gate. Upon entering the gate and to the right we found in the first two rows the name Cowing painted upon these stones. She said to me these may be your relatives. Today I know they were. At the time I said to her that in time this paint will wear off and no one will know who is buried here. This is what I viewed in the first row: Warren Cowing, infant; Caleb Cowing; Anna Cowing. The second had John Cowing & Israel Cowing and I do not remember if there were others. Respectfully, Chester H. Cowen of Florida

    3. Hi Chester, I have the Guide to Massachusetts Cemeteries by Lambert and there are ten cemeteries shown for Rochester. Several are small family cemeteries, for the Braleys, Ellises and Ashley. The Town Hall number is also listed - (508) 763-3866. 3. Chester, Check the US GenWeb site for Rochester, MA - http://www.rootsweb.com/~macroche/ You might be able to find some contact possibilities. Maybe even finding some info through the Tombstone Transcription Project volunteers there. Usually the folks volunteering through the GenWeb sites are quite helpful! Good luck.
