    3. Friends, At the top of Old Burial Hill in Marblehead stands a fifteen foot high marble monument dedicated in part to the fishermen of Marblehead Who lost their lives in the Great Gale of 19 September 1846 off the Grand Banks of Newfoundland. You are cordially invited to visit an addition to my web site, which lists the names of all 66 Marblehead men and eleven ships lost in this hurricane, including the fourteen names inscribed on the stone, with genealogical notes for most. Included are the names shown on two other sides of the monument, those lost at sea in other events and those who died on shore, also with genealogical notes. Please visit http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~ccridland The new information is linked from the first page of my site by the words "top of the hill". Claudia Cridland
