Looking for the above cemetery, where death certificate states a relative was buried. Cannot find a listing anywhere. Understood it is/was located in Roxbury. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Jan Nordhoff
David Lambert's <A Guide to Massachusetts Cemeteries> lists only one St Phillips Cemetery, which is located in Grafton, which is nearer to Worcester than Boston. There are several cemeteries in Mass called Phillips, but also none near Boston. The Roxbury cemeteries are mixed in with the rest of Boston. There are Adath-Jeshurun aka Grove St. Cemetery, Baker St. Jewish Cemetery, Boston United Hand in Hand Cemetery, Gethsemene Cemetery, Mount Benedict Catholic Cemetery, New Calvary Cemetery, Roxbury Eliot Burying Ground, St Joseph's Cemetery, St Mary's Cemetery, Walter St Cemetery, Warren Burying Ground, Westerly Cemetery. There's a Phipps Street Cemetery in Charlestown. I googled St Phillips Roxbury and found there is a St Phillips Parish there. No indication of a cemetery connected to it, though. Hope there's a clue for you somewhere in there. jp --- >Looking for the above cemetery, where death certificate states a relative >was buried. Cannot find a listing anywhere.
