Dear List Members, I just ran across an interesting Website, "Courthouse Experiences" http://www.bcpl.net/~dmg/courthouse.htm Not every county is listed, but the ones listed gave helpful information regarding the attitudes of those working in the courthouses. I might suggest that if you have had a positive or negative courthouse experience you add them to this site. I now know how to prepare myself for several courthouses I want to visit later this year. I read where the Archives at the Archdiocese of Boston had the grave marker inscriptions for the old Catholic Cemetery on Rindge Ave.., Cambridge. They stated that they don't have that information. Is there any other place where the marker inscriptions might be held? thanks, Charles
This won't be much help but did you know there is a Tenian Beach in Dorchester? It is near the freeway. I could take you there but might have trouble describing the place. Hi Folks, Is it possible that anyone out there would have info on the death of Alvia Daniel Lothrop, husband of Flora B. Robinson? Alvia was born 1869 in Bradford, Ma., married in Kennebunk, Me. (there's no death record in Maine) was listed as shoe maker in Bradford and Haverhill, Ma. I have many Aunts and great, greats buried in Haverhill.....but, have not been able to find anything on Alvia Lothrop. Family tradition has it that Alvia would have been buried in Haverhill. I figure approx. 1930's. Thank you, Bee

Hi, I was recently doing some cemetery research in Uxbridge, Worcester County, Mass. I don't remember seeing any Dennisons but, then again, I wasn't looking for that name. Will probably go back in the near future and I will keep you in mind. If I find any, do you want a photo of the stone? I could E-mail it to you. Let me know. Deb
Thanks so much for the help . I am looking for a Thomas Dennison b.around 1868 There are many Dennison families but mine is very difficult ! Thanks for all the help you can give , Tee
thanks . Tee
Will check locally in Hampden-Hampshire County Massachusetts for you ..as well ... In addition to the Cape & elsewhere ..they had paper product plants in Holyoke ...especially known for those Dennson stars & photograph corner points for mounting in albums.
Can anyone help me find any Dennison's that are buried in MA . I am desperate . Mostly Berkshire and Worcester County and maybe Middlesex . Tee
If I remember correctly, Dennison is an old Cape Cod name-- you might try the Cape towns. Dear List Members, If you were effected by the Comcast buy out, then you need to read this, if not delete it. Just this evening, I have receive over 100 requests for me to change e-mail address to a Comcast address. Many of these requests mention multiple lists of which the sender needs their e-mail address changed. It will take me a good week or so to get through them all. My suggestion is; If you still have the ability to unsubscribe go to PASSWORD Central at http://passwordcentral.rootsweb.com/ type in your old e-mail address, and follow the directions. You will receive an e-mail from which you can unsubscribe. If you can't do this, then you will just need to re-subscribe with your new address and let the old one bounce off. To re-subscribe this go to John Fuller's mailing list site http://www.rootsweb.com/~jfuller/gen_mail.html or remember you can subscribe and or unsubscribe by sending only the word UNSUBSCRIBE or SUBSCRIBE to XXXXXX-L-REQUEST@ROOTSWEB.COM or XXXXXX-D-REQUEST@ROOTSWEB.COM if you are on the Digest List. Naturally change the XXXXXX to the name of the list. If all else fails, contact me, but be understanding if it takes me a while to get to you. Kathleen Burnett List Mom
I located my ancestor's death record in Cambridge, MA in 1849. Now I am trying to find her grave. I noticed on her death record it said her place of interment was L 236. Under the title Undertaker the name Daniel Stone, Supt., was given, and that he was registered Oct. 1, 1849. Does anyone know of any cross references that could tell me what cemetery L 236 is??? Here is a copy of the entire record I found... Leafy Winch (Relief?), Died Sep. 9, 1849 in Cambridge, MA. Female, Age: 76 years, 6 months, 1 day. Born in Ashburnham, MA. Died of Dropsy. Buried at L236. Informant or Undertaker: Dan'l Stone Supt., When Registered: Oct. 1, 1849. Record No. 377. Thank you, Melody
For those of you who are visiting the cemeteries and graves of your loved ones, your ancestors this weekend and have a few extra flowers, think of placing them on one of the lonely graves which are never visited. Or, if you are living in an area where you have no one, think of visiting a cemetery and placing flowers by one of these lonely graves. I live in Logan Utah and tomorrow I will be visiting several local cemeteries and will be placing flowers on graves. Over the past years I have adopted these graves, these people and I hope that someone out there is doing the same for my loved ones. This is the day to remember those who came before us, who forged the paths that we now walk. Kathleen Burnett List Mom
