    3. Sandy, Is your Abel Franklin from Lynn or Lyme NH? I have many relatives in Lyme, Grafton Co., NH but I have never heard of Lynn NH. There is also a Lyman, Grafton Co., NH. In either event, I don't have information on your Franklin. If you are related to other families in Lyme, I may be able to help. Some of the families are, Perkins, Converse, Bingham, Cutting, Strong, Gilbert and Danforth. 1. Help to find a burial near Needham
    2. Gilbert Haycock
    3. Eliza BURTON GINNEVER died in Needham 11 Dec 1878, but the death record I received from the Archives does not show the cemetery where she was buried. Eliza's daughter, Eliza E. L. PRESCOTT died in California 18 June 1910 . The mortuary where she was taken tell me that her remains were sent back to Massachusetts. I assume, therefore, that her brother had this done for burial with their mother. Can someone help me find their graves--i.e. cemeteries in that area I can write to for information? I would be most grateful for any help. Many thanks, Carol Ginnever Haycock in Aurora, Colorado

    1. Re: [MA-CEM] Cemeteries In Natick, Ma.
    2. Dear Sandy, The death certificate should tell you where they are buried. In your case, there are two different places to go to get them, but both are near each other. - Asahel Franklin DOD 1886 will be in the MA State Archives http://www.sec.state.ma.us/arc/arcidx.htm . They are in Dorchester, in the same complex as UM and the JFK Library. They are open M-F and on the 2nd & 4th Saturdays of the month. - John Rockwood DOD 1914 will be in the MA Registry of Vital Records http://www.vitalrec.com/ma.html11, located in the Expo Center next door to the complex where the State Archives are located. They are only open M-F. I don't know where you live, but both are worth the trip. I am going to the Archives this Saturday, so if you are from a distance, I could give a look for you. Periodically, I go to the Registry, but I am not quite sure when I will go next. Regards, Linda Jackson Danbury, CT

We hope to make a trip to Natick some time, and would love to know where these grandfathers are buried.I just joined this list. 3. I would like to know the best way to find where my husbands ancestors that lived in Natick, Ma. are buried. Were the dead usually taken to where they were born? If so some could be resting in Nh.. They are Asahel Franklin born in Nh. who died in 1886 in Natick. Georege E. Franklin born in Nh. who died in January 1914 and John Rockwood a native of Natick. Thanks, Sandy Franklin@adelphia.net

    1. Not buried with her husband Tewksbury State Hospital
    2. Curious why she was not buried with husband where he is in another cemetery and why he was not listed on her death certificate.  If that is a Catholic cemetery, perhaps they didn't allow it if he were of another faith. My grandparents were buried different places for that reasons. Perhaps she was divorced or perhaps the person filling out the information just didn't know who her husband was. Does it say who the informant was on the DC? They might give you a clue. If you have any luck getting hospital records, let me know how. I think that is doubtful.

    1. Re: [MA-CEM] Tewksbury State Hospital - and ALL State Hospitals
    2. Hi JoAnne, I found my ancestor's death certificate. She died at Tewksbury Hospital March 17, 1919. The certificate states she was married but does not list her husband's name. It does list her parents. There is just a line drawn through the part about husband. Gives her birth place and her parent's birthplace. Says something about hospital records, but cannot read it, I believe she ws in the hospital for five days. Says 20 yrs in the country. Cause of death TB of the lungs. Duration 4+ years. Says she contracted the disease in Lowell which I find interesting. I thought she lived in Boston. Dr.s name is listed that did the testing. Address of hospital said State Infirmary, Tewksnury. It says her place of buriel is St. Patricks Cemetery in Lowell, Mass. Date of buriel March 19, 1919. Has undertaker listed and Tewksbury as adress. In searching online I found a listing of names of people buried at St. Patricks cemetery and I think I found her listed there. Now, I wonder 1: If there are hospital records from Tewksbury I could see. 2: I could findn someone to take a pic of her gravesite at St. Patricks Cemetery and see if any records are there. 3: Curious why she was not buried with husband where he is in another cemetery and why he was not listed on her death certificate. Thanks for any help. christine

    3. Hi Christy, The lady who runs the Tewksbury-Hospital List works at the Museum there, and she has access to records. If you join the List, and post your question, Joanne will try to help you. She is a volunteer so you might have to wait a week or so. As I understand it, there are no "stones" of any sort, well maybe "rocks and stones" in the cemeteries on the grounds of the State Hospital. All that I see mentioned are small, metal markers with numbers on them and nothing else. 3. Christy, I don't have her in my listing of the burials at Tewksbury. Can you tell me why you think she is there? You might want to contact the Tewksbury Town Clerk (they have e-mail not sure what it is) but they should respond to you via e-mail and can let you know where her internment is. She might also have been a donated to science body and then she would be elsewhere and I can let you know that after you locate her internment. The Town of Tewksbury has most of the vital records for the hospital. Let me know what you can find out.
