Henry Lyerly Jr, died in 1854. Most of the names you provided are the same as those above except Sarah is missing (perhaps died), and Joseph (could be Jasper). Is the Census wrong? It is what I relied on for info. Sequoia Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. In the 1900 and 1910 Census Minnie is listed as the wife of John O. Lyerly and with five children. My guess, since I can find no additional information on John O. Lyerly, that he died. Thus, Minnie was left with five children to raise.. Along comes the (great and kind!) younger man and marries Minnie with all her brood. Perhaps the "Floyd" (age 3 3/4) was a son of Noah or Cora's (??). Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Here you will find your Floyd D. and the same siblings from 1900 These same children are in the 1920 census (as noted by Ron) living with Minnie and Ben Brown. And it does look like she married a younger man. Apparently John Lyerly died sometime between 1910 and 1919. In 1930 Minnie and Ben are still in Scott, Poinsett County, Arkansas with 2 Lyerly grandchildren. Hope this helps Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: RonEEason Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.lyerly/58.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: In the 1920 Census, in Scoot Twp, Poinsett County, Arkansas, there is a family of Lyerly's that are sort of odd. I say odd because the HEAD of the house is BEN BROWN. It shows the "wife" as MINNIE BROWN. But just under it, it shows all the kids as LYERLY's starting with DAVID LYERLY 26, NOAH LYERLY 24, CORA LYERLY 21, EVERETT LYERLY 18, then FLOYD LYERLY 16, which would make Floyd born about 1904. There is also a FLOYD listed as grandson. The odd part is Minnie is listed as 45 yrs old and her husband Ben Brown is listed as 27 yrs old. I would say Mrs. Minnie Lyerly, either left her husband for a younger man, or was left a widow and this kind soul of a youth, offered to help a poor widow and fell for an older woman. Not sure if this helps but it looked promising. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
