All of John and Melvina's children lived quite long lives, except for John Q. and Noah, of course. I am curious if you know Daisy's middle name..I believe it started with a "B". Can you help? Good, but Issac Lyerly was not married to Nancy Rex. She married Jacob Menius in 1851. William Rufus is listed as a Rex, 1 year old in 1850. I did not find him in 1860, but in 1870, he is listed with his mother and step-father as Lyerly 21, blacksmith. Pat Beck Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Frances is my maternal grandmother. Esther married Elmer Johnson. Frances married Jasper Douglas. Ruth married Glenn Ury. Esther married Elmer Johnson. Electa married Jewell Whittington, and later Ted Coe. Grover married Lena Lingle. Frances had 3 children, and my mother Frances and my Aunt Lucy are both still living. Also some of their cousins. If you tell me more about your interests and connection with these people, I could probably connect you with the family members who know more. I am curious about a physical trait in this family. One cousin has dark eyes and dark complexion. No one seems to know for sure the origins.I'm kind of hoping the Lyerly's married in with American Indians, but there is some mystery here none-the-less. - Susan Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Lyerly (Leyrle, Layrle). I take my notes from a transcript written by John Hubert Doty of Aurora, Colorado. My notes on J.C. Lyerly show that Adolph Nusemann was the name of the preacher that J.C. Lyerly brought back from Germany in 1773, from the Hanoverian Consistory of Germany. Your notes indicate that J.C.'s daughter Barbara would have been 20 years old at the time, and she married an Adolph Nussmann. My great-grandfather was Dr. Andrew Jackson Lyerly, b. 07-23-1865 and d.03-23-1929 and buried in Jonesboro cemetery in Jonesboro, Illinois. Andrew had a medical practice in Union County, Illinois. I am just getting started on my own geneology. I'm missing a few generations (and about 125 years) between Johann Christoph and Andrew. Thank you again for your piece of the puzzle. - Susan Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Layrle (b 1710 Germany) onward. Looking at this site plus searching the federal censuses, I ccannot locate a David Lyerly (except one born in ug 1892) so: 1) not the spouse of Sarah Cauble (b 1823) and (2) I bbelieve that the lineage for George Washington Lyerly was his father John Lyerly(b 1842), his father Henry Lyerly Jr (b 1809), and then his father Henry Lyerly Sr (b 1786). Am Iwrong? (won't be the first time!) Also, if you have any info on the connection to the Cherokees please let me know. By the way, until two years ago, I was living in Prescott! There are two reasons I believe this: 1. My father and his brother (the only Lyerly I ever met), both looked full-blooded Indian. 2. In the Lyerly family tree into from Ancestry.com there are a lot of Cherokee names like Adair, Alberty, Bushyhead, Wicket, Buffington, Bowles, Ratatling Gourd, Halfbreed, etc, etc. I just haven't able to make a direct connection where in the family they came into. I'm about ready to hire a professional geneaolgist to do it (I've only been at this for about a year, so still a baby at this).
