I am looking for a Lutheran Church in Pittsburgh PA / Allegheny County, PA. My GGrandparents were married by the minister Rev. Niman at his house. Below is what I have from the family Bible. "Peter Feiden and Maria Jung were married on Jun 25 1868, Allegheny County, PA; By Rev. Niman, in Rev. Niman's house." Maria and her parents, Peter and Rosina (?) Jung belonged to Rev. Niman's Church. Any help in locating this church is appreciated. David Seefeldt seefeldt@in-motion.net
Hi, I have the Lutheran Annual listing all the current church. I cannot tell you what church was there in 1868, but I can tell you what is where today for anyone who wants to know. David, since there are 15 churches in Pittsburgh today, I will send the list directly to you, if you want them. Let me know. Another source for researchers is Concordia Historical Institute, if your ancestors belonged to the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. Address is http://chi.lcms.org/ click on "services available" and then "reference & research" - here you can see what all is available (or might be). Then you will either have to go in person and search or request it by mail. (for a fee) David, they can tell you which church was there then for that Pastor. Good luck.
