    3. I am not inquiring about the congregation, but rather letting the list know that I have a copy of the 75th Anniversary Book for the congregation, published in 1945. Buckley is located in Iroquois County, about 40 miles south of Kankakee and about 30 miles north of Champaign/Urbana, on U.S. Hwy. 45, with access from Interstate-57. Please do not ask me to look just for the heck of it. But if you do have reason to believe your family settled in that area for a time, I will be happy to look for you. I lived there the first 14 years of my life, was baptized and confirmed there and still visit often. In fact, I'm going "home" this weekend for a family reunion. I am familiar with MOST names in the area, but there ARE those who simply passed through, the man signed the voter's registration for the congregation, but they left no other trace. Also, my latest reading of St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Buckley, Illinois, is online at: ftp://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/il/iroquois/cemeteries/stjohn.txt If your family stayed for any length of time in the congregation, you might find family members buried there, if only a child who died in an epidemic. There are (at least) two St. John's Lutheran Church congregations in Iroquois County. One other is in Ash Grove Township and is often referred to simply as "Ash Grove" church. It's modern mailing address is either Onarga or Cissna Park. I WILL be posting a query about my "mystery" KRUMWIEDE lady in the cemetery. She has us all wondering how she and her husband (HELFERS) ended up in Buckley, and what connection she might have to my family. Only the shadow knows at this point. I'm a new subscriber (the influx, by the way, is due to the list having been mentioned on another popular list within the last week) and look forward to "meeting" you all. -- Loretta Iroquois County ILGenWeb Project http://www.rootsweb.com/~iliroquo/ Ford County ILGenWeb Project http://www.rootsweb.com/~ilford/ Iroquois County Genealogical Society http://www.rootsweb.com/~ilicgs/
