    1. [LUTHERAN-ROOTS-L] A searchable digital library

    3. Hello subscribers, Just this evening I discovered a wonderful digital library that is easily searchable. There are quite a few Lutheran records included in this library, so I thought it was worth passing along the info. The main page for this digital library can be found at: http://pixel.cs.vt.edu/library/content.html This opening page describes the contents of the digital library, and includes links to each collection that is available. However, the easiest way to interact with this digital library is to use the Full Text search feature, which is available both as a link from the page above, and directly at the following address: http://pixel.cs.vt.edu/library/search.html If you go straight to the Full Text search feature, then you may wish to start your search in the Category "Church Records". You will need to do a separate search for each category of data, which is a minor drawback, given the powerful search engine available. The data seems to concentrate on both Russia and the American west, including Nebraska and South Dakota, etc. -- Enjoy, Mary Taffet List Administrator for LUTHERAN-ROOTS mdtaffet@syr.edu
