Alice Thanks for your responces to my quests.I'll give some of these sources a try. The following facts will guide me as to the ones I try: 1. Upon arriving in the US, they went to the area of Stone Mountain, MI. 2. In 1890 they lived near Hillsboro, Montgomery County, IL. Carl worked in a nearby coal mine. 3. In 1893 they settled in Springfield, Sangamon County, IL where my grandmother deserted the family, where my grandfather became a Citizen and was killed in a coal mine accident. My father married and lived there until his death 1n 1950. Thanks again for your help.
