Duran, 86, of 450 Dry Valley Road, Lewistown, died at 12:37 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17, 1999, at Lewistown Hospital. Born July 6, 1913, in Avona, Union County, he was a son of the late Andrew and Agnes (Novacki) Duran. His first wife, Emma Jane (Serfass) Duran, preceded him in death in 1975, and his second wife, Beatrice Duran, preceded him in death in 1993. Surviving are: children, Carole Jane Duran, Lewistown, and Charlotte Ann Macomber, Mt. Airy, Md.; sister, Cartherine Mulitsch, Pen Argyl; half brother, Leo Suprys, Pen Argyl; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, John Duran and Adam Duran, and one sister, Anna Heitz. He was a self-employed dairy farmer, owning and operating Dur-Ridge Farm, Orbisonia. He was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Burnham, and the Holstein Fresian Association. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Schmidt Funeral Home, 202 West St., Wind Gap., with the Rev. Clyde B. Singh officiating. Interment will be in St. John's Community Cemetery, Nazareth.
