I have a rare German Bible published in 1685. My family was originally French Huguenots who fled France in 1685. The name "Dreffein" is not a French name and I am having troulble tracing their roots back to Alcase France where they came from. Can anyone help me in my search? They were among 400,000 Protestant who fled the country at that time because of religious persecution. Their faith must have been strong because the majority of the Huguenots, 1.5 million, stayed in the country and were coerced to convert to catholicism.
