    2. BAPTISM Infant baptism has been practiced by orthodox Lutherans pretty much since the days of the Reformation. Adults who had never been baptized were baptized and confirmed, usually in the presence of the congregation or the Elders. Don't really know of any time when historically orthodox Lutherans didn't practice infant baptism. In fact, it was usually done as quickly after birth as possible, even in normal cases, within the week - in emergencies, ASAP. Erv
