Hello subscribers, It has taken me a long time to accomplish this, but I finally managed to update the mailing list home page to be more representative of the various synods: http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~mdtaffet/lutheran-roots_list.htm I now realize that there are numerous synods out there, so I would appreciate your comments as to what additional links I should add to the web page. I have a rare German Bible published in 1685. My family was originally French Huguenots who fled France in 1685. The name "Dreffein" is not a French name and I am having troulble tracing their roots back to Alcase France where they came from. Can anyone help me in my search? They were among 400,000 Protestant who fled the country at that time because of religious persecution. Their faith must have been strong because the majority of the Huguenots, 1.5 million, stayed in the country and were coerced to convert to catholicism.

FYI -- 2 separate postings are combined here. The second one is interesting because it shows a member of a Presbyterian church being buried in a Lutheran cemetery.
