    1. [LUTHERAN-ROOTS-L] Heinrich RICHTER
    2. Dorene L. Kaiser
    3. Hi, I am looking for information on my gg grandfather, Heinrich RICHTER, who immigrated from Prussia. I do not know what year he came over or with whom, plus not finding him anywhere across the waters. I do know that he married Sophia BRAUMOELLER (b. 2-17-1830 Ger. d. 11-27-1910 Paullina, IA) in the states, and according to Lutheran church records in Germantown, IA, Heinrich was born 9-11-1823 in Prussia and died 12-1-1892 in IA. According to an anniversary booklet from the church, his entire family and others from Cook County, IL, moved to Germantown, IA area around 1877. Heinrich then donated land on which to build the new Lutheran church. The rest of the info comes from the above church records. Their first child was born 1-1-1851. Does not say where. The rest of the children were all born in Cook County, IL; most were married in IA and died there. 1. Anna b. 1-1-1851 where? d. 1-9-1941 m. in IL to Heinrich GRUENHAGEN b. 1849 d. 3-18-1921 2. 3. I don't know if it's the same one, but there is a listing in the phone book for St. Pauls Lutheran Church at 5035 W Ohio. Austin is 6000 West. This is an ELCA church. The other St. Pauls Lutherans aren't even close.

    3. Darlyne, My great grandfather was August Friedrich Boelter. He was born in Prussia Jan. 31, 1872. We do not know when he came over or where he landed. He married Martha Matlida Fleming (born June 26, 1883-no info on parents or where born)--we don't know when or where. They had 2 children--William (born in 1904) and Ida (my grandmother, born in 1905). Matlida died very young (died Sept 22, 1916). With the help of his mother, August raised his 2 children here in South Texas. August died Jan. 6, 1952. Both he and Matlida are buried at the Redemer Church of Christ Cemetary in Zuehl, Texas (a small community east of San Antonio, Texas). August's mother was Uetta Sonnetag--we think her first husband was a Boelter and her second was a Holtz. She died before 1930 and is buried at the Redemer Church of Christ Cemetary. Uetta also had a younger son (Boelter) but do not have his first name. Does any of this fit into your tree? Any information would be greatly appreciated. 3. Thanks Mary, Haven't posted my interests for awhile. They are the Hempel Families in Kustrin, Neumark and Culmsee, Westpreussen and the Schwedler Families in Berlin, Brandenburg. Same families also after migration to Michigan in mid and late 1800's. Hopefully, there are other researchers looking for these same families. Some were members of Trinity Lutheran (Historic) on Gratiot Avenue and some information has been taken from LDS films of churches in Culmsee and Kustrin as well as at Trinity and the Trinity Cemetery in Detroit. Thanks for any assistance you may be able to give. William Hempel whempel@ozemail.com.au

I don't know the name of the church or how many Lutheran churches there would have been in Wehrstedt at that time. Is it possible to see a photo, or photos, or find out about the church or churches in Wehrstedt at that time? I have many happy memories of Sunday School and nativity plays I participated in at a little Lutheran church in Ingoldsby, Queensland, as a child. Regards, Fay Mumme. 1. [LUTHERAN-ROOTS-L] Roth/Rhodes/Rhoades
    2. RHOADS, Roger
    3. I'm very new to the list, and have a German colonial family I need some help on. George and Anna Roth/Rhodes were born ca. 1748 (based on birth date of first child) and the earliest info on them was their sale of a farm in Frederick Co., MD in 1783 when they moved on to Bedford Co., PA. While in Frederick Co. they had five sons: Philip, Henry, George, Jacob and Christian. Two of them, Jacob and Philip, moved to Montgomery Co., OH (Dayton area) in 1810 where they homestead 160 acres in 1814. I descend from Jacob. Today, the family well populates the western Ohio counties of Montgomery, Miami, Darke, Shelby and Preble. The two brothers help found a German Reformed church near Farmersville, OH in 1811. It was a Union congregation with a Evan,. Lutheran alternative congregation. After that time, everyone in the family became Lutheran and remain so today. I'm guessing that George and Anna were possibly Lutheran in Frederick co. Does anyone have any records on them? All the Rhoades/Rhoads/Rhodes researchers have reached a dead-end on them. 3. I am not inquiring about the congregation, but rather letting the list know that I have a copy of the 75th Anniversary Book for the congregation, published in 1945. Buckley is located in Iroquois County, about 40 miles south of Kankakee and about 30 miles north of Champaign/Urbana, on U.S. Hwy. 45, with access from Interstate-57. Please do not ask me to look just for the heck of it. But if you do have reason to believe your family settled in that area for a time, I will be happy to look for you. I lived there the first 14 years of my life, was baptized and confirmed there and still visit often. In fact, I'm going "home" this weekend for a family reunion. I am familiar with MOST names in the area, but there ARE those who simply passed through, the man signed the voter's registration for the congregation, but they left no other trace. Also, my latest reading of St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Buckley, Illinois, is online at: ftp://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/il/iroquois/cemeteries/stjohn.txt If your family stayed for any length of time in the congregation, you might find family members buried there, if only a child who died in an epidemic. There are (at least) two St. John's Lutheran Church congregations in Iroquois County. One other is in Ash Grove Township and is often referred to simply as "Ash Grove" church. It's modern mailing address is either Onarga or Cissna Park. I WILL be posting a query about my "mystery" KRUMWIEDE lady in the cemetery. She has us all wondering how she and her husband (HELFERS) ended up in Buckley, and what connection she might have to my family. Only the shadow knows at this point. I'm a new subscriber (the influx, by the way, is due to the list having been mentioned on another popular list within the last week) and look forward to "meeting" you all. -- Loretta Iroquois County ILGenWeb Project http://www.rootsweb.com/~iliroquo/ Ford County ILGenWeb Project http://www.rootsweb.com/~ilford/ Iroquois County Genealogical Society http://www.rootsweb.com/~ilicgs/

He was the youngest son of Johann Friederich Mumme and Johanna Wilhelmina KUNSTEIN who were married on 27 Nov 1792 in Wehrstedt, Hannover, Prussia. Our family is looking for birth and death information on Johann and Johanna, whose three children were born in Wehrstedt, Hannover, Prussia, in 1794, 1798 and 1801. Also, information on Johann's brothers and sisters might help us make links with other Mummes around the world. Friderick and his wife, Marie Elizabette (Ilhabe) BAHTMANN, emigrated to Adelaide, Sth. Australia in 1857 with their children on the ship, "Peter Godeffroy". One of their children (Marie) died in Germany, but we have no birth or death information on her.
