I just called the Town Hall in Pawling. They have records dating back to 1847. But that book is sparse!! The town clerk just looked up two records for me. I checked to see if they had a Death record for Joseph but they did not. (Major Disappointment!!) There were no records of any Ludington dying in 1850 at all. I was thinking maybe Ron had it right and he died in 1859 but he disappeared from the census in 1850 and Susan took his place. Besides the date was on his stone. She did have one for Syrena though and that states her Father as Joseph Ludington and her mother being Susan Salmon. Oddly my sister just ran into her neighbor who happens to be a Ludington as well. (my sister lives in Cortlandt Manor) This Ludington's husband is ill right now but I have asked her to contact me when he is doing better. My sister is packing to move out here but said if she has some time before she leaves she'll go to Pawling Cemetery because she too thinks I did not take a picture of all the Ludington's buried there. I'll let you know it that happens. If not my niece lives in Hopewell Junction and that is not too far from the mix so I may go in and stay with her for a week. While she is at work I'll get in some research. I have other family to check into as well that was from Pawling so I could get that all done in one trip. Mary
