I want to make a note before the list gets started on "Who is Comfort J.R?.". As you come to know us and read our postings, you will find that the name Comfort (all of them) have been quite a puzzle for us. The Comfort, Jr. designation came from me. There is a Comfort (son of Comfort and grandson of Elisha) that I call Comfort, Jr. This is simply my way of telling him from the others. I believe this is the Comfort that was with Joseph and there is no "Comfort J.R." to the best of my knowledge. I think that is the Comfort that Ron intended. Ron, feel free to correct me if I am wrong in this instance. Elaine
Hi Elaine and thanks for the warm welcome. I am afraid your years of experience have me a bit confused. Can you help me sort out the Comforts you speak of. I assumed the Comfort on the 1820 Census was Comfort son of Comfort grandson to Elisha. Was I incorrect. Perhaps some of you can send me a genealogy report so that I could get an idea of the different lines that run down through the Ludington's (?) (p.s.. I have a bit of dyslexia as you will come to find when I type sometimes I can not see my errors, Please forgive the inconvenience this may cause) ----- Original Message ----- From: <Dek623@aol.com> To: <LUDDINGTON-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, May 26, 2006 7:56 AM Subject: Re: [LUDDINGTON] Joseph Ludington > > In a message dated 5/26/2006 10:43:00 A.M.
