Found a couple of interesting pages interleaved into one of mother-in-law's copies of the Col. Henry book (Al's family is notorious for sticking stuff into family books...) Item #1 is a 3-page "leaflet" type thing called "The Ludington Family: The First Name in America" by Lewis S. Patrick (Marinette, Wis: The Independent Press 1886). A snippet: "Christian & William Ludington. The earliest record containing the family name of Ludington, emigrating to America, is found in the list of the ship Hopewell, a vessel of sixty tons burden, of which William Bundock was master, bound for New England during the year 1635." Followed by yada yada yada yada, but packed with, seemingly, good info (including property records, etc) and a neat little page attached that is "An Inventory of the estate of Wm. Ludington, late of New Haven, deceased, taken and appraised by John Cooper and Mathew Moulthrop" (list follows....) Item #2 is just a handwritten lineage of a gentleman named Stephen Hopkins, who apparently came over on the "Mayflower." He is ggg-father of Polly Townsend, who Lewis (Al's GG-grandfather) married. If I scanned this info and emailed it to you - could you use it?? Lemme know - Ed

Ed, WOW! What a MARVELOUS find. I've been searching for a copy of that leaflet by Patrick for AGES. Patrick was one of the sources for the Ludington/Saltus documents. I don't know about Fred or Ron but you would really make my day if you would scan it for me.
