Hi I found more about the Daniel in question. I look in a filed book. No will but Daniel was from Beekman and died 2-10-1893 Executors Elizabeth Washburn wife and John D. Gardner. I may have notes on Elizabeth too but it is late. Went to Catskills today found a Lud there (looking for Washburn's) His name was tertullus. He was the only one but left some kiddies when he died. Will post that info when I get a good night's sleep. That Daniel was b 08/28/1828 and was a son of Joseph and Susan Ludington. Joseph appears in the 1820 census in Pawling NY but I do not yet know who he was descended from. Daniels' mother was Susan Salmon 1791/1850 and she appears in several census reports after her hubby died. Several living Luds from Holley in upstate NY descend from this Jos/Susan marriage as does Marcia Ludington Baker who lives near Pawling today and who has been visited by myself and other Lud lookers. Tertullus was a son (also a grandson) of Col Henry Lud, and a younger bro to Sybil. Both Tertullus and Sybil operated local "watering holes" in the Catskills at times.
