    3. FYI... Mrs Arthur G Rotch was originally Helen Gillman Ludington, b 1882 in Lyme CT. She was a daughter of Chas H/Lewis/Col Henry Ludington, etc. Bertha Ludington Barnes was a daughter of Chas Barnes/Mary Ludington. Mary was a daughter of Nelson/Frederick/Col Henry Ludington. etc. They both came from "monied" Ludingtons in the WI and IL branches. Bertha married a man named Richard Smith who went down on the Titanic in 1912. She died a year later in Switzerland. Broken heart?? I have no info on the Ludd who died in 1822 in New Orleons LA.
