Stephen Ludington was probably the younger bro to Col Henr as both of them served in the Revolution. Stephen was murdered some time later, probably in 1783 as his "notice to debtors and creditors" was published in a newspaper on Feb 27, 1783. His murderer was said to be John Akins.
