Ludington, loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, left this earthly existence to be with his Savior on December 20, 2005. A celebration of Hank's life will be held Wednesday, December 28th at 6:00 pm at South Mountain Community Church, 12411 S. 265 W., Draper. Any flowers may be sent to the church on Wednesday. Interment in Larkin Sunset Gardens. Tha man was Henry Harold Ludington a son of Walter Stewart Lud 2 /Walter Stewart 1/ Harley Pulaski Lud/ Afred T Lud/ Nathaniel Lud etc. Nancy Hammer comes from this line. Walter S 2 was born after his father had died while on a visit to Washington DC in early 1905 A newspaper article on him: Walter Stewart Ludington 1873-1905. Walter was born 21 April 1873, the first child of Harley Pulaski Ludington & Emily Cripe Ludington. He served in the Spanish-American War. Walter would have been 26 yrs old when the family moved from Dublin IN to Muncie IN, in 1899. He "went west", & his little sister Mary last saw him in St. Louis in 1904. Walter was married on 28 June 1899, to Maude E. Wyant; they had no children. When Maude was terminally ill, a nurse, Cora Mae (White) Prindle, was hired to care for her. Cora Mae was an RN from NYC, & she had two daughters, Maybelle & Hattie Prindle. Walter & Cora were married in 1904 in Broughton Kansas. Walter was an engineer and an inventor; he went to D.C. to get a patent for a steam regulator, but he got smallpox while there & was hospitalized. Cora went immediately to D.C. to care for him. She also became ill but survived. Walter died 12 March 1905, age 32, in Washington DC. He is buried at Arlington National Cemetery, Congressional Cemetery.
